I’ve written a few books that you can’t buy yet. Before that, I got hit by a van. And yes, I once made a joke about Winnie the Pooh that’s been taught in at least one law school.

If you’re after something a little darker and a lot more Catholic, I wrote about my relationship with my father in America Magazine.

I’m also the former Editorial Director of the Roosevelt Institute, where I wrote a daily newsletter, helped run the Next New Deal blog, and worked on a wide range of social and economic policy issues. Below are a few of the most notable publications I edited:

REWRITING THE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ECONOMY: AN AGENDA FOR GROWTH AND SHARED PROSPERITY (W.W. Norton, 2015)

Nobel-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz explains that inequality is a choice we make with the rules we create to structure our economy and society, and we need progressive policies to generate stronger and more inclusive economic growth.

UNTAMED: HOW TO CHECK CORPORATE, FINANCIAL, AND MONOPOLY POWER (Roosevelt Institute, 2016)

This report by Nell Abernathy, Mike Konczal, Kathryn Milani, and others explores how corporations and the financial sector have come to dominate the American economy, why that's hurting workers, and what can be done about it.

THE HIDDEN RULES OF RACE: BARRIERS TO AN INCLUSIVE ECONOMY (Cambridge, 2017)

Andrea Flynn, Susan R. Holmberg, Dorian T. Warren, and Felicia J. Wong examine how an invisible system of laws and regulations reinforces racial discrimination and undermines efforts to address America’s economic divide.
